WELCOME TO STEPHEN MOFFAT ASSOCIATES

After graduating in 1974 from the City University, London with an Honours degree in Civil Engineering, Stephen worked on the Humber Bridge as a temporary works design engineer. In 1975 he joined a local Consulting Engineers’ and gained valuable experience in the design of industrial buildings, plant support structures and foundations. He became a Chartered Engineer (M.I.C.E.) in 1978 and M.I.Struct.E. in 1988.

Stephen set up his own Consultancy in Hull in 1989 and was responsible for the design of numerous subsidence related underpinning and repair schemes during the 1990’s. The Practice also undertakes Structural Surveys on buildings in support of conveyances.

In 1995 the Practice moved to larger premises in Beverley, 8 miles to the north of Hull and now attracts business from throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire and beyond. The Practice offers structural design and draughting in steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber for industrial buildings and structures, hotels, public houses, leisure, retail and domestic properties. All design uses the latest software to increase accuracy and efficiency.
